Roblox is one of the most popular gaming platforms. Roblox is looking to boost its revenue by giving users the ability to create and sell more types of digital goods.
Roblox revealed that the upper-tier premium plan subscribers of the Roblox App are now able to sell their 3D goods to other users. Previously you needed to apply and pass through the company’s user-generated content program to sell your digital goods like clothing and accessories to other users.
Manuel Bronstein, Roblox’s chief product officer, said in an interview with CNBC,
“Now you have the marketplace open to everybody, and you will have the opportunity to have a lot of creation on the platform”.
The company’s main motive is to increase engagement and more users on their platform. Roblox gets more subscribers with this plan and users who want to upload their 3D goods will have to pay a platform fee to upload their goods in the marketplace.
