Taylor Swift is giving the hotel industry a run for its money. The “Cruel Summer” singer’s “Eras” tour has boosted hotel revenue in cities across the United States, according to investment firm Bernstein. As the tour expands internationally, the so-called “Swift-lift” could be felt all over the world.
Bernstein analyst Richard Clarke wrote in a client’s note on Friday that he used the term
“Swiftonomics” and said, “This has been a notable boost to the hotel industry,”
The average revenue per room was 4 percentage points which is higher than the national average in the U.S. during these months Swift visited, according to Bernstein data. U.S. state revenue per room increased about 7% in the months Swift visited compared to the same months a year ago.
